Co-founder
Karin Ito
Karin is a co-founder of VAMOS and a full-time office worker in Tokyo. She grew up in California and moved to Japan to attend Waseda University. In Japan, her social community consisted mainly of people she met through work. Building relationships outside of the office, especially with people she truly connected with, was much more difficult than she expected. That started to change when she discovered HYROX. She came in with little fitness background but quickly realized it was a sport that welcomed everyone, regardless of age or experience. She introduced it to her family, and her mother, now in her 60s, trains and races alongside her. Along the way, she found a shared passion with her partner (Founder, Eiji Pereira), built lasting friendships, and found a diverse community where she felt she truly belonged. She wants everyone who walks into VAMOS to experience what she felt — that you belong here and that you're more capable than you know.
